No this is not a joke!

I just wondered who out there really, really, really expected the patch to be released on time?

One day Wizards will actually do what they say they are going to do and half their customers will go into shock!

They already did, and the world still has yet to pick its collective jaw off the floor:

www.wizards.com/d20

Check under the "d20 modern" SRD section. Released November 8th, 2002 - Just when Anthony said it would. :)

Actually, at one point he told me on the phone it would be November 11th... But then it was the 8th! So I guess he lied to me!

(Tongue in cheek)

He did later correct himself and say the 8th, though, so I think he was just pulling my chain.

His original public statement was that it would be released on the same date as the official release - when it was announced later that the official date was to be the 8th, I was kinda waiting for it. What it does prove is that it was already prepared, and they were sitting on it for the proper time. Good work, I say!

<snip>I suspect that the patch as it stands won't support those who bought the earlier, non-CD-requiring version of eTools, <snip>

WOW, I guess I am not going nuts after all. I bought Etools when it first came out, then bought a second copy for my laptop to use at the table. I never really made the connection on two versions, but I kept thinking "I could have sworn you didn't need the CD", "I could have sworn last time I needed the CD", "wow I thought this thing worked without the CD,...

I thought I was loosing my mind and my memory LOL!

Heh! :)

In case you want to install the non-CD version both places (since you have two licenses), the CD itself won't have a volume label (that is, in My Computer it will just say "Compact Disc (D: )" or simply "D:" instead of "ETOOLS (D: )".

(Substitute the drive letter of your CD-ROM for "D" as needed.)
