Re: Re: Re: Come get some! Indeed, but we also agreed to avoid metagame thinking as much as possible. If you're wondering about my Spell Penetration and Greater Spell Penetration, I took them in place of Item Creation feats. I always EVENTUALLY take Spell Penetration feats, but usually only after Item Creation feats. I, however, have certain house rules I use regarding high-level character creation and Item Creation feats. (I use the 70% cost for items you can make/50% cost for charged items/35% cost for charged items you can make rule from the NPC section of the DMG for PCs as well, just so ya' know.) I wanted to avoid wealth disputes, though, so I dropped the Item Creation feats and went for the next feats on my "feat list". If you would like me to concede the Spell Penetration feats, I will, although I would also ask that in such a case you would allow me to reallocate wealth/items for my spellcasters using the 70%/50%/35% cost rules from the DMG, if that's not how you already assign wealth anyway. Your call. We do need to make this as realistic as possible for the test to work, after all. The poison is fine, it applies to more than one type of encounter. I think the Arrows of Slaying is a bit too encounter-specific, though, if you know what I mean, even for a deity of the attitude you described. The rest of the stuff seems reasonable enough, even the necklace of fireballs (He IS a Level 1 character, so that evens out the power differential to everything in a realistic enough way.) As-is, the character is specifically geared for ranged combat against a party of humans/humanoids. I think the Slaying Arrows is a bit of metagame thinking in this case. Those alone, without considering anything else, could easily sway this battle, and as such I feel is not a good measure of the test of the characters' power. (IF Slaying Arrows by nature weren't creature-specific, I'd say go ahead, but they are always creature-specific, so that is metagame.) I could see every adventurer of Level 11 taking a weapon with Sure Striking, but I can't relly envision a normal deity of Level 1 with DvR 0 taking Slaying Arrows as standard-issue, no matter their personality. It is kinda funny how we both anticipated an air battle, though, eh?
