i'm looking for something that would fit a multiclassed rogue/bard. i.e. sneak attack progression AND bard spell progression and/or musical abilities. that kind of thing. (and no not specifically that, it's given as an illustration of the type of class i'm looking for.)

What do you mean by a bard AND rogue PrC? Are you taking about a PrC that requires both levels in bard and levels in rogue to take? If so, I can't think of any off the top of my head.

If you are looking for PrCs that are accessable to both bards and rogues, however, you may want to take a look at the Shadowdancer from the Dungeon Master's Guide. The "Hide in Plain Sight" ability can come in handy for rogues, since they can hide, then sneak-attack an enemy the next round, and repeat over and over again.

Hmm. A puzzling combination. Bards and rogues generally don't mesh well iinto a single character, what with bardic music attracting attention conflicting with the rogue's inclination to avoid detection.

Strangely, I'd suggest Arcane Trixter...

You'd have to be higher level, but it would let you continue with spellcasting as well as rogue abilities.

I don't think you're going to get anything much better, as very few (if not almost no) spellcasters get sneak attack.

Also keep in mind that all you need to improve your bardic music abilities is ranks in Perform. You won't get any more uses per day, but you can still open up the more powerful music powers without taking levels of bard. Arcane Trickster could work for you.
