Any help is appreciated - Mystra speechwriting?

Henry

Autoexreginated
Mystra is taking on her first paladin; the person has done faithfully, has fought well for her, and she has a special mission in mind for him. She has called him to a holy site, and he has obeyed, taking a trip of many many miles.

What does she say?

I'm afraid I've never been good with writing grand speeches, and was looking for some inspiration from the members of this forum. Perhaps someone here is a great off-the-cuff thinker, or knows of a good web site I can crib some good "called by god" speeches.

Anyone who can give me some ideas of some nice flowery prose is much appreciated. :)

"Goodly knight.

You have travelled from afar, hearing my elusive call. And for that I shall reward you. You have bravely stood in the face of mine enemies. And for that I shall reward you. Your faith is paramount among my noble followers. I shall reward you for this, as well.

But for now, brave soldier of mine; rest a minute and and know the closeness to thine goddess that very few shall feel. You have been a lamp unto others, and a beacon of my Word.

Go now, though. Take forth the quest I now bequeath to thee. Do this for my sake, and for the sake of all Magic and knowledge throughout Faerun."

.... or something like that?

"My faithful child, you have always served Me well. You have followed My tenets, kept My interests ahead of your own, and kept Me at the forefront of your thoughts every day. You have followed the signs I gave you, and done as I have asked you with no thought of repayment. You have shed your blood for Me, and raised your sword against My enemies at great risk to yourself. You understand My will, and known My wishes as much as any mortal can. You understand the importance of magic and My own body, the great Weave that forms all arcane power.

You have fought in My name with little help from Me, but you have done so with perfect loyalty. You have defended My works with your skill and faith. I wish to reward such bravery and faithfullness, such understanding and courage. You will be My first holy warrior, a paladin of the cause of magic, using your purity of purpose and skills of war to protect My ways and My body. I imbue you with the Power and Grace of Mystra, my faithful child."

As she says the last, his body fills with the holy power of Mystra, and he now holds the power of the holy warriors of the Realms.

How's that? :)
