Any Iron Kingdom Campaign Setting news

Title says it all -- any news on this baby actually making it out this year? This is my most anticipated book of the year; I'd hate to see it end up as vaporware.

Actually, I was just asking about it this afternoon at my FLGS. Word is that it's still in the editing process. Not laid out yet, so I wouldn't hold my breath on seeing it any time soon. Damn it.

This was posted by Joe Martin, E.I.C. over at the IK boards (on the Warmachine site) on Sept. 20th... it's the last "official" word I've heard

"Hello All,

I’m Privateer’s Editor-in-Chief and right now, I am staying more than a little busy working on the Iron Kingdoms “Full Metal Fantasy” Campaign Guide (you know, that book everyone is clamoring about). I’m still not going to announce a dateline for the project other than say “soon!” I CAN tell you though that this immense project really is starting to wrap up in a LOT of areas and, believe me, it's going to make any IK fan grin from ear-to-ear for, who knows, at least a few days, if not weeks. We may actually start getting complaints a week or two after the book ships, as I imagine some people will start getting concerned by IK fans in their proximity always walking around with an IKCG in their hands and a rictus grin stuck to their features, wondering if this is some permanent affliction!

Kidding aside, though. I honestly don’t have loads of time to lurk or post here on the IK Forum, but I will endeavor to do so from time-to-time. Today, I’m going to indulge everyone visiting this topic by listing the official rundown of new classes and prestige classes available in the IKCG. So enjoy, me hearties!

NEW CLASSES
-Arcane Mechanik: Gifted individuals who are both spellwielders and mechaniks.
-Bodger: With a couple of choice words and a few whacks with a wrench, the bodger can get even the most stubborn piece of mechanika up and running.
-Exemplar Knight: These righteous knights are the faithful servants of the stern god, Menoth, and are set to do his bidding no matter the cost.
-Fell Caller: These mighty trollkin chanters end battles using the full scope of their vocalizations for powerful effects.
-Gun Mage: Potent spellcasters capable of channeling magic through their pistols.

PRESTIGE CLASSES
-Battle chaplain: These extremely devoted warrior priests provide frontline support for Morrow’s faithful.
-Blackclad: Commanding the very stones to do their bidding, blackclads are masters of the elemental forces and leaders of the druidic Circle.
-Mage Hunter: With the help of their mage killing weaponry, these elven warriors hunt down human wizards to maintain the balance and protect certain Iosan interests.
-Malefactor: Dark agents of the goddess Thamar, malefactors are gifted manipulators and seducers beyond compare.
-Pistoleer: Skilled shooters ever quick-on-the-draw, pistoleers are finesse specialists with all types of small arms and are, hence, exceptionally dangerous.
-Rifleman: Expert marksmen, riflemen often receive training and expensive, well-crafted rifles through military service.
-Scrutator: Devout servants of Menoth, scrutators are the ultimate enforcers (and torturers) for His Divine Temple.
-Second-story Man: These smooth individuals make their way through elite society, carefully choosing targets for their daring heists.
-Warcaster: Directing the great warjacks through sheer force of will, warcasters command the most devastating soldiers within the armies of the Iron Kingdoms.

Disclaimer: Bear in mind that this may or may not be 100% "official," but it’s pretty bloody close. Like, I don’t know, 99.9% "

Hahah, I thought it said 2004 all this time!

Oh well. Anyway, it is most definitely not vaporware.

I also recently worked on this book and can confirm, as others have, that it's rolling along quite nicely and will be every bit as good as it has to be after so long a wait. Heck, just reading some of the chapters I've been given as research material for my own sections made me want to play in the setting -- and I'm one of the writers.

Believe me, it'll be good -- and, for once, well worth the wait. Trust Privateer on this one.
