i notice that some art was made at least twice...

looking at some othe topic, the "Trampier’s "Emirikol the Chaotic" art (http://www.fierydragon.com/db/2003-07-09.htm) was re-done ins 2nd edition (phb or dmhb), as the "thiefs stealing the gems from the statue eyes -and killing lizard man" in 1ed phb (http://home.flash.net/~brenfrow/dd1/phb.htm) and somewhere ins 2nd eition phb/dmhb

do we have more of this kind of re-done work?

sorry for not being so clear, my english is really bad :p

Yes, there are lots of examples of re-done art, or art that was directly inspired by earlier art.

Unfortunately, I don't have my books handy to look them up but IIRC there are three versions of the fighter in a water trap being attacked by a skeleton: one each in 1E and 2E with a male fighter and one in 3E with a female.

I think there were two versions of A Paladin in Hell, two of trolls winding up string left by adventurers (1E and 2E) and two of gnomes sitting on a giant die. I have a feeling that the 1E illo of some adventurers coming across a magic mouth was re-done for 2E as well.

At least one of the 1E illustrations, No Honour Among Thieves, was copied from the 19th c. artist Gustav Doré, and the picture of Hercules in one of the versions of Legends & Lore (1E Deities & Demigods or 2E?) was clearly inspired by a particular statue (which I think is in the Louvre museum in Paris).

One of the Mongoose books for 3E includes an illustration which is copied from part of some Citadel Miniatures (Games Workshop)/D&D art from the mid-'80s.

There are no doubt many other examples but as I said, I don't have my books to hand. Sorry. :o
