Any other campaign settings like Blackmoor

GreyLord

Legend
Blackmoor for 4e has new classes with new powers (regardless of how underpowered or unbalanced they have been judged) as well as new classes for it's setting which give the game a completely different and new feel to it.

I am wondering if there are any other settings that have this same idea with completely new classes (and by classes, I mean more than one...preferably at least 3 or more) and races (once again, more than one, preferably more than 3) that one can be?

PS: And in case it's not obviously, I mean for settings with the 4e ruleset (aka, not 3e, or older sets, nor for other gamesystems, this is specifically for 4e).

Amethyst definitely has its own classes. I believe the same people are also coming out with a sort of RIFTS-like setting as well. There are a number of other 3PP 4e settings. I don't really know if they have that level of crunch included but some of them may.

I found amethyst foundations...not certain if that's what you are mentioning...sounds intriguing. Do you have a website?

Thanks.

Me? No, I don't have anything to do with it, just happened to dig it up when I got curious about 3PP settings. I know that one of the designers hangs out on RPGnet. I'm sure there are some people around here or over there that have looked at it. I think it has been out for a while now. They do have a web site someplace.

Amethyst offers four technology-based classes with a fifth in the next book, Evolutions. Evolutions will also offer Essentials builds of all five original classes.

As for races, Foundations offers 7 races, Evolution adds 3. Add to that about 20+ paragon paths, epic destinies...and about 100+ guns.

Anything else you want? Evolutions is almost done but I am open to suggestions. :)

Can't find it in hardcopy, where would I pick up a hardcopy of it? I went to the site and it had a different picture than the one via Amazon...which is called Amethyst Foundations. Goodman Games has it there, but the picture is different with a lady on the front. It sounds like it's the same from the description, just looking for verification that this is the same game?

This is the link to the one at Goodman Games

Amethyst

If it's the same one, interested in it. The biggest thing I can note from the brief preview that I looked at is that there's only one magic casting class apparently in the entire setting. Wizards seem to be the only ones there. Are sorcerer's or other classes from other PHB's going to be allowed or is there another spellcasting class in evolutions?

Looks like a unique take with Sci Fi in it, which means that I'm a lot more interested already, as it's a different take on the 4e rules.

Yeah, don't confuse the Hearts of Chaos module cover or the old 3.5 Amethyst from 2008.

This is the cover of the 4E Amethyst, called Amethyst Foundations.

You can buy it from Goodman on hardcover or from Amazon. It's distributes from Alliance, so your local game store should also be able to order it.

In the setting, a fantasy world invades our real world, disrupting technology and forcing humans to choose between machines or magic. The game allows most 4E classes and the five "techan" classes presented in our books.

Because of the setting "fluff", wizards are the only official spellcasting class from PHB1. However, the errata explains which classes are canon from PHB2 and 3. In Evolutions, we have a lifepath that allows a loophole for clerics.

If you follow Greylord's link above, you will find tones of information on Amethyst.
