Anybody have Masterscreen Quad from Citizen Games

Hey. I'm in the market for a great game screen, and the Masterscreen Quad from Citizen Games looks to be it. However, it's a large investment ($25) and I was hoping to find a user testimonial before I shelled out the bucks. Any happy (or unhappy) owners here?

Thanks,

It's essentially a blank GM screen. I have the original, three panel one. I understand that Savage Worlds have a version that's in the landscape format. The Masterscreen I had was a little tight, so putting info in and taking it out was a little difficult.

In addition, there was supposed to be a massive amount of support for it from 3rd party publishers but outside of Bastion, I don't recall too many other people supporting it.

If I was doing it now, I'd probably get the Savage Worlds one due to it's reduced height. Good idea there.

An excellent product, IMO. And made extremely well. And you can put pictures of your campaign-specific stuff on the PC-facing side.

On a scale of 1 to 20, I'd say....Critical Hit!

I've got the Masterscreen Quad. Works great, takes some repeated abuse. I'm still tweaking the inserts for the inside of the screen. Nice to be able to change the artwork on the outside of the screen too.

I'd recommend it if you're looking for a DM screen. Much better and more durable than the cardboard type screens and the customizability is great.

I haven't looked in a while for any inserts designed for the Masterscreen (original or quad). If you find anything good, post it here.

Another option if you want a great DM screen is to get the Kingdoms of Kalamar one, which uses flaps to provide 24 pages of information. I'm not sure if the 3.5e version is out yet though.

Don't be scared away by the Kalamar thing, most of the info on the screen (~75%) is generic or at least applicable to generic D&D.

Thanks. "Stands up to abuse" is just what I wanted to hear. :)

I've seen this in the store and thought it was awesome. However, I'm running a Spycraft game now, so I wanted something I could customize the contents of. Like some superspy goodness. :)

Now that feature just can't be beat. For D&D the Kalamar screen is best. The 3.5 version is at the printers, no official release date, other than the early Feb. one that they have missed. Since they just told me today it is at the printers I am hoping to see it in the next 30 days.

It is laminated and has 32 panels that flip. You can't change out the pictures or customize it to any non-d20 game system, but for D&D it is worth the $20.00 SRP.

I have the orig 3 panel version. Its very nice to be able to change stuff out and customize but it does have a few down sides.

As mentioned above the slots are a bit tight and I found I had to trim a normal sheet of paper by about 1/2 an inch to get stuff in with out hurting it.

Also, I have only had mine for a year and it already has some fairly large splits along the seems between sections. I use it for my weekly game, but do not change the inserts offten and do my best not to abuse it. For me personally the cardboard ones have held up better longer.

I print all my inserts on 8x11 cardstock papers (30 lbs. or more), even though the pockets are not as tight as the original triplex MasterScreen.

The cheap way to add flap pockets are to use sheet protectors and transparent tapes.
