i just noticed it over at rpgnow.com and it looks like an interesting game. i have posted before on the dearth of good 2 player games, and this one looks like it may be workable for 2 or more, but i want to hear someone elses opinion first :)

Thanks for checking out Dust Devils. The game would work, I think, for 2 players. It's ideal for smaller groups of 4-6 players total. That's because the game uses poker as a resolution mechanic, and it works better for smaller groups and one deck of cards (although you could also just add a second deck for larger groups, I guess).

Dust Devils is a straight-shootin' Western, and many people have told me that's what they like about it. No zombies, etc. What *I* like about the game is that I think it does a good job capturing that gritty Western theme you see in movies like Unforgiven. That Eastwood film, among others, was the primary inspiration for the game.

The game recently won the Best Indie RPG of 2003 award, along with the Best Synergy of Game and Rules sub-category. You can check it out here: http://www.rpg-awards.com/rpga/index.shtml
