Anyone else have trouble with Sims 2?

Yesterday I picked up The Sims 2 DVD edtion. I have a DVD rom drive, so it should have worked. When I put the disc in the DVD drive, all that happened was I heard it spinning and my drive was not reading it. I updated my drivers and everything, but got the same thing. I took it back and got the normal CD edtion and it worked fine. Anyone else have this type of problem with the game?

Nope, the DVD edition seems to work fine on my PC. Do you have trouble with any other DVDs on the drive?

No, I play other DVD's and games on DVD fine.
