Circle Casting is the kind of thing that seems complex and a disaster if you get it wrong, perfect for a UA.

The Psion UA came with feats & spells, not sure why the FR Subclasses didn't come with the feats & spells for the FRPG.

The Artificer I think came with feats, Backgrounds, and spells I think.

Thoughts?

I have not really thought about, until you brought it up. I am not sure the UA process is the same over the last 4 or 5 years or so, as compared to further back.
I think the UA process is more of a sniff test, "is this going to get acceptance?" from the player base. They only ask if they are wondering about interest.

So you feel like they think player demand for circle Casting is rock solid without testing that? It seems pretty niche to come to that conclusion.

And how will they know if circle Casting will break the game or not if they don't do a UA playtest?

I think it was more a case it's already locked in that it is going to be in the book, tested or not.

Though I think it would have been wise to throw it out beforehand to see if anybody latches onto issues with it, and gauge if how they plan to instigate it matches how it will actually get used.

But, after what we got with Bastions, UA seems to me like a joke or a best a feeble marketing hype.
