[QUOTE="wayne62682, post: 3048827, member: 40455"] It's survivable, but you need to think.. rushing in will get you killed. As I said, a lot of the counters look unbalanced if you only look at CR/EL, but I have yet to read in-depth. The only issues that I see are: [sblock] 1) In one part, the PCs are trapped in an underground complex that has 9 ravenous zombies (adventure suggests you send groups of three at them when appropriate, Resident Evil style) and a Huecuva (sp?) that has DR 10/silver; the only silver weapon in the place is a dagger that is half-hidden in a pool. This I think may be cutting it close, since I'm fairly certain the party is assumed to still be 1st level at this point. 2) The second half of the adventure (assume PCs are level 2 by then) has a LOT of EL 5 encounters, since they're trying to infiltrate a thieve's guild and there's a good chance the guild is on alert (The EL for most encounters in the guild are variable on if the alarm has been raised or not). One such scenario has the PCs in an area filled with some water and a crocodile. 3) The "boss" fight is a CR5 and a CR3 encounter.. I haven't read a lot of the details but that seems a bit much even for a 2nd level group, although I think there's a good chance they may be 3rd by the time they face it. An unrelated bad note is that the adventure notes says the later modules assume this boss escapes; not a big deal but PCs hate to let anything escape, so if your group likes to make sure things are dead this may be an issue (she has an escape plan, but still) 4) The very first encounter is around EL3, but the PCs should have the element of surprise to "even it out". The enemies aren't that tough (basically 1st level Warriors led by a 2nd level one; just a couple of thugs) but it could turn deadly if the party tries an all-out assault. I believe there's also a CR3 Rhagodessa (sp?) in this encounter as well, but it only shows up towards the end. [/sblock] Other than that, it seems very enjoyable, just very difficult (like both SCAP and AoWAP); you can't just wade through and expect to take things down mano-a-mano. EDIT: Having just now read ehren37's post, I would just like to reiterate that I haven't really sat down and read through the adventure in depth, so my estimations are based purely on the EL/CR of the encounters.
