Message: <blockquote data-quote="Westgate Polks" data-source="post: 2274238" data-attributes="member: 13524">Solid Content for New PlayersI bought the book as a gag for my room-mate (she always playfully mocks our gaming group) and got the hysterical laughter response I was hoping for.  Then I glanced through the book.The first chapter details the vocabulary of the game for new folks, and it does a decent job.The second chapter is far more helpful.  It briefly describes 4 main PC classes:  The Fighter, The Rogue, The Cleric, and The Sorcerer.  It also give three ready-made 1st level PCs of each class that can be dropped into a new or existing 1st level game.  All the math is already done, combat is summarized, and feats and skills are explained so new players can actually jump in pretty quickly.The next chapters deal with making a character from scratch.  Again, the focus is on the 4 above classes but various class concepts (like the ranged fighter, the melee rogue, etc.) are introduced that have corresponding skill and feat trees etc.There is not a ton of stuff for folks that have significant 3.0 or 3.5 experience.  However, if you have children or siblings OR if you have new players from time to time I think this book will prove extremely helpful.</blockquote>
