I am a fan of the Dummies books they have helped me with a lot of computer programs, how to work my digital camera. I think they are great for people who know very little about a subject and want to know more. A good starting point.For the most part I think it does this with DnD. It breaks the rules down and makes them easier to understand. It helps you build your first character. Gives you information on good feat chains. Explains AOOs and flanking.My only objection was the chapter that teaches how to min max and cherry pick. Mainly because the way it was written. You can't have your character live unless he is uber powered and this is how to do it. It gives the impression that it is the ONLY way to play that taking a level of say rogue should be a power decision not a role playing decision.</blockquote>
