I like your story idea a lot. My players would shoot me if I made a game as based around responcibilty as helping 50 freed slaves find someplace safe to live. One caviate: I know less about africa/african myths than you do. I'm also about to spout off lots of ideas that might be completely counter to the culture (if you can say that africa has a culture when it's as big and diverse as it is). If it's fun I say run with it. *The party finds a safe, verdant area controled by a friendly tribe. However they are warned that they can only stay in the area for 13 days. After that the tribesmen must kill them and sacrifice them to the spirits who protect the land. They aren't evil people. They're very specific and straightforward and share freely, but the spirit that guards the place will only allow people born into the tribe (and maybe young people who marry into the tribe) to stay. *The group is met by an old wise-man who greets them warmly. They are expected, for he has seen them in his dreams. He tells them something of the dangers they face ahead. *The group encounters another band of refugees coming toward their group. Violence has broken out in the region between two tribes. Are the PCs willing to help this new group as well as the old slaves? (I guess this really isn't the -adventure- stuff per se. But it's what came out)
