Figured I'd stop just talking about making a generic dragon, and that I'd actually try making one. Let's start with the basic True Dragon concept from the Monster Manual and start from there. The Generic True Dragon should have the basic Dragon shape: cat-like body with a long tail and neck, a bird/dino-like head with either horns or a crest, and two wings. I, personally, would also give it opposable thumbs. It would grow from A Tiny Wormling to a Gargantuan Size Great Wyrm, and could be of any color and or have any body-markings. The Generic Dragon's basic special abilities would be a Breath Weapon attuned to a certain element (Fire being most common, but also Cold, Electricity, Acid or Sonic), Damage Reduction to anything except magic weapons or another Dragon's claws, and Resistance to the same type of Energy it's Breath Weapon would use. Each Dragon would be different from the next, and as such could select a certain number of salient abilities, such as movement rates in addition to their running and flying speed (such as Swimming, Wall-Crawling or Burrowing), increased maximum size (from Gargantuan to Colossal), and certain spell-like abilities. Other salient abilities could alter the Dragon's very physical shape, such as making it more snake-like or giving it extra legs or extra heads (although that could be done by giving them the Multi-Headed creature from Savage Species). And such Dragons could be of any alignment, though all of them would share common attributes, such as a sense of smug superiority vs lesser humanoids and a strong sense of covetousness. And, of course a Dragon's varied appearance would be no garantee of it's Alignment. So, anyone wanna help me stat such a Generic Dragon?
