My girlfriend had Hodgkin’s (a lymphoma) a few years ago and underwent Chemo & Radio. Chemo kick’s your ar5e something shocking. She had it every 2 weeks and it really sapped her. But she lived, which without the Chemo & the Radiotherapy she wouldn’t have done. I’m no scientist, but as I understand it the general theory behind chemo is it’s toxic to you and kills fast-growing cells. Cancer cells with their malignant nature are fast growing cells. They die, along with the rest of your fast growing cells – white blood cells, hair growth cells etc. Heck I ‘somehow’ managed to come into contact with her the day after she had chemo and some of it leeched into me. I felt sick and a bit dizzy for a couple of days. (tip – no matter how darn cute they are don’t submit to their wiley ways soon after cyto-toxins have been placed in a loved ones system. The short term happy ain’t worth the next few days sickness.) It did give me a tiny insight into what it must have been like for her though. Good luck to your mum, sorry to say it but it sounds like she needs a bit of luck and a :):):):)e load of determination.
