Anyone know of any good mechs?

Alright I know this was in the boards somewhere I just cant find it, I am looking for some good examples of mech type armors. Right now the best I can find are in Aliens Game Over By Michael Tresca which is a really cool netbook and the CYD20 by By George Chatzipetros at Ground Twenty which has somewhat more of what I was looking for. I am invisioning something like those suits of armor in the new matrix movie. Can anyone point me in the right direction? please and thank you to who ever that can help.

I haven't picked up that Mecha Compendium, yet... is it any good?

I know that Darwin's World 2 has a few powered armors in it for D20 Modern, and Armageddon 2089 has lots of MECHs, for base D20 (though I'll wager it wouldn't take much to convert them to D20 Modern)...

My recommendation is either d20 Mecha by Guardians of Order (softcover, 96-page full of mecha/vehicle creation rules with a few stats, $20) or d20 Mecha Deluxe Compendium by Dream Pod 9 (hardcover, includes GOO's d20 Mecha rules via OGL, many mecha stats, including conversions from Heavy Gear, Jovian Chronicles, Gear Krieg, etc. -- $40).

I highly recommend that you go for the whole 9 yards, and get the 440 one if you can afford it. It has a load of examples, and great ideas for how to introduce the power suits into a campaign.

But, if you can't afford the $40, then go for the $20 of the GoO book. It's not as comprehensive, but it's got the rules there, and that's what matters.

If you're really poor (like some of us), I highly recommend the d20 Mecha SRD, from the GoO site (i think it's also at the OGF site, but I'm not sure).

Also, I recommend you use the mecha classes from the Mecha Crusade article if you use mecha classes, since the ones presented in the books and SRD aren't as good (in mine and others' opinions).
