Anyway to "heal" from being stunned?

First Post
During our last game a character was "stunned" by a Mindflayer's Mind-Blast for 11 rounds. Are there any counters to being stunned, after the fact?Any way to speed the process of coming back from being stunned? Thanks.

Hm... Interesting question. Might have gleaned a larger and quicker response in the D&D Rules forum (and caused a heated debate to last until next August), but here's my take.

Heal, while not specifically mentioning stunning damage seems to clean out the system from absolutely everything. Kind of an expensive method but lower level curing just doesn't seem to cut it. Mass Heal says "same as Heal", so that would as well, IMO. This assumes a bit, though.

The Freedom spell will work but it is hardly readily available to low level characters.

Remove Paralysis might work if the DM says so, but strictly by the book it is not mentioned as removing "stunning effects" whether by magic or regular attack.

I think the jury is still out on this one, though if anyone knows of a correction, please let me know. :)

Remove Stun

Hi,

I asked this about six months ago on D&D rules when the same thing happened to two PCs in my game. I discussed this with several posters and we came up with Remove Stun - a level 1 cleric spell, text almost identical to Remove Paralysis.

Otherwise, I don't think there are any publisher spells that can do it!

Cheers

Richard
