The dragon uses its reach to perform a disarm, but does not have Improved Disarm, so he provokes an AoO. Because the dragon's body part has to enter the fighter's threateed area to hit the sword, the fighter gets to take his AoO, even though the dragon's main body is outside of his 5' threatened zone. I'm not wanting to argue the merits of the rule or anything, just wondering if someone could please point me to the WotC article, sage advice column or even thread reply that made the ruling. Thanks!</blockquote>
