April preview

Oh this is where the title goes?
The April preview is up.

Some 4e tidbits:
- H1 Keep on the Shadowfell will include a Quick-Start Rules book with a conditions list.

- They will be releasing Escape from Sembia (I guess in May as well), revised and edited to the final rule set

- The MM will contain soldier, brute and leader versions of the minotaur

- A May video podcast will feature paragon-level play.

I never thought I'd miss the guy who used to do Previews...and Beyond, but at least he talked about upcoming products. This is ridiculous.

Uh, tell me that wasn't the preview material for April. Tell me that was a belated humor piece.

Please?

This is funny. Not only have they stopped really previewing 4E for the past month, now they're taking their stated preview article and giving us...this. It's almost like they're purposefully needling us. "Huh? You want a preview of some 4E in this preview article? Well, here's some stuff about Assassin's Creed, you know, that video game that came out six months ago. There's your preview."

Obviously I'm just messing around a bit, but I'm just astounded at how they're handling all of this stuff.

I think the "Gamer Lifestyle" section of the April Preview is, at best, irrelevant and distracting, and, at worst, embarrassing. Mat Smith's previews were far more interesting in that, without the "Gamer Lifestyle" section, they seemed to be able to spend more time giving interesting details about upcoming Wizards products.

Obviously they don't have a lot immanently due out, that's why the lack of WotC products.

As for covering other things, that reminds me a lot of what Paizo was doing with Dragon on their preview section.

Well that was disappointing and pointless, similar to the last "preview article". Truly, the non-marketing plan for 4E is very puzzling. It is all I can do to keep feeling optimistic about 4E when faced with such anticlimactic anti-marketing from WOTC.
