Message: <blockquote data-quote="Mark CMG" data-source="post: 5516362" data-attributes="member: 10479"><p>Not as such, though I could see how some comparisons could be made.  Don't read more until after seeing the movie.  [spoiler]The protagonist in Limitless isn't really deficient in any way at the start and the moral dilemma begins from a place of greed rather than a hope of correcting a sort of biological injustice (if that makes sense).  The Limitless protagonist continues to make a series of immoral choices until we discover at the end that he has weaned himself off of the drug and regained his confidence (lost before the movie begins) as well as regains his girl (lost before he ever discovers the drug).  One might argue that Charlie becomes arrogant in Flowers but he really becomes a victim of the surgery that is meant to improve his condition, and one could also argue he never really understood what he was getting himself into by agreeing to the surgery.  I think the only aspects I would say that warrant a direct comparison would be the theme of science over-reaching and that there is an increase in intelligence in the two protagonists.[/spoiler]  Are there some other things I might be missing that you felt warranted comparison?</p></blockquote><p></p>
