Arcane mastery question

Hi everyone, I´m considering giving my sorcerer the feat Arcane Mastery (from complete Arcane) and was thinking about when do you use caster level checks ?

When you try to beat spell resistance
When you try to dispel one spell (I´m not sure about this one, as in the description of Dispel Magic says: make a dispel check...)

...

any other uses for this feat?

When using scrolls with spells of a higher level than you can cast.

A Dispel Check is a Caster Level Check with a cap, so it's still a CL Check.

You also make CL checks when dispelling multiple spells with an area dispel, as well as when using Dispel Magic as a generic counterspell.
