Arcane Preparation and Spell Points

I'm using the spell points system in my game. After going over the background of a character with her player, it sounded like she should be a sorceress with the Arcane Preparation feat. (Tome & Blood, and Frogotten Realms Campaign Setting, don't know if it's in Complete Arcane)

So, how would that feat work in a Spell Points environment?

The problem with that is that makes them wizards with a sizable increase in spell points and with more than double their daily allotment of spells. (The sorcerer would use their "Daily Spells" to pick out a number of spells they can prepare and cast as a sorcerer and then have their spells known as a "bonus" list to choose from.) They couldn't cast more spells than normal, but the spell selection would make a wizard pale in comparrison.

I was thinking about having them "cast" spells they want to prepare ... so preparing a 3rd level spell would drain 7 spell points but the sorcerer would treat it as an additional spell known for the day.

Spells prepared through Arcane Preparation cost more. Maybe +1 spell point per spell level.

Another thing I was hoping from the mechanic was to have spell points from all classes stack as a mystical endurance. but I'd have to have reconcile the multiple lists issues. Most likely I'll keep the spell points seperate.

That's not quite what Arcane Preparation does--Arcane Preparation doesn't give you the ability to learn any new spells--it just lets you dedicate a slot ahead of time so that you can Metamagic it faster. So the sorcerer in your example does not get to use daily spells to pick out unique spells to prepare, they just get the spells known.

Right sorry. Read that recently. However, in that case Arcane preparation does nothing for the sorcerer as everyone has spontaneous metamagic and it does not take extra time. I was going to allow Arcane Preparation to allow sorcerers and bards prepare some spells from a spellbook (I'm thinking with 1 or 3 + Int mod spells or spell levels).

Another I could add is the spells cost +2 spell points to cast, like a +1 level metamagic.
