Can they fly? My players are all pissed off that I have this guy in a war chariot being driven by caribou that can fly. One guy's claiming that because he read it in the book, that they can't fly..that they can't fly and so they could never have killed his wizard (who has the same spells as every other wizard he's ever taken). Not sure what to do with him except to say that his next character won't be getting any magic items this xmas...he's on the naughty list..ok..just kidding.
..on another note..thanks dude..I think I can get a hold of that book
1st edition used to have stats for "Herd Animals"...I think I've seen stats for Bison, so I would simply split the difference between say a cow or bull, buffalo and a light riding horse and leave it at that.
as to the idea of flying reindeer, folks do know that the whole Santa and his flying reindeer myth evolved from Thor and his flying magical war goats, right?
Thor's Goats can fly? Sweet! I wonder if that changes their king on the mountain game.
Does that mean that santa's sled was drug along by goats? Definately more imposing than reindeer. I may have to whip up some artwork quick...hmmm...goats heads....

No, I didn't know that. Seems possible since both sets of animals fly their humans around. Other than that - the resemblance seems circumstantial and myth origins, like word origins, are pretty easy to falsely construct based on circumstantial evidence. Also I was under the impression that the reindeer thing was a 20th century American invention.
