[QUOTE="hong, post: 1106561, member: 537"] I'm trying, I'm trying. It's not that easy, you know. And it's not like either Spring Attack and/or tumbling is a completely uber-attack-form anyway. If you're getting sick of being smacked by people running around you, just ready a hit with your greatsword to smack them back as they close in. Use a reach weapon for even better results. I'm not sure why Pax isn't using the ready tactic to whack these tumbling rogues of D3TH, if they're really giving him as much trouble as he makes out. Ah, perhaps I have it. Being a careful optimiser of character builds (of the sort that certain uncharitable persons would call a "munchkin", not that there are any such persons here on this family UNsegroup), Pax has noted that a big, beefy, damage-dealing brute really has not much need for intellect, and has thus chosen to place his lowest stat in Intelligence. Having thus voluntarily reduced his Intelligence (purely for roleplay purposes, you understand), he cannot now suddenly turn around and pretend that his meaty character has an expert understanding of combat and tactics, to the extent that he would be aware of such a subtle tactic as waiting for someone to approach and then hitting them. So it's really all about being true to the character, even if this means voluntarily disadvantaging yourself in combat. I don't know about you, but such dedication to the principles of the Real Roleplayer is something that I, for one, find highly commendable. If you're in full plate, you can't tumble anyway (movement reduced). Unless you're a dwarf. Perhaps we should send off a stern missive to the the uber-tumbling DWARVES O' DQQM that they should stop whaling on Pax's ass, because he's really getting rather tired of it all and would like it to stop now, thank you.
