I had one of these with my game last night. Playing Traveller and the team had been hired to repair some robotic harvesters on a largely habitable agricultural planet. Their ship got sabotaged mid jump and they had crashed on the wrong side of the planet on a large island that wasn’t yet cultivated for food production. Their communication capability was seriously inhibited and they discovered that there were dangerous, possible illegally genetically modified creatures in the forest, they were attacked by them, observed by drones and then found a shady corporation compound that seemed to be responsible for the creatures and appeared to be letting them attack the characters and observing. One player says “let’s just get this crash landing problem over with by handing ourselves in to the corporation and get on with the scenario of fixing the harvesters”. Along the lines that the GM isn’t going to have them kill us because then the game ends and this way we don’t have to solve this survival problem.
