Are you excited about the upcoming 4-part Greyhawk map in Dungeon?

I sure am! And if I'm not mistaken, the first part of the map is coming in Dungeon#117 (that means...soon).

Lately, I've been enjoying the new flavors of Eberron, but events are conspiring to make me want to start a fresh Greyhawk campaign. I'm sure it will feel like home. Also, there's a lot of good, fresh material for Greyhawk available as well (adventure path series, Black Ice adventure, etc.)

I imagine there are many folks who never left Greyhawk, despite all the new campaigns available.

So, are you excited about the maps? If so, will they perk your interest enough to return to the Flanaess once again?

Cheers!

Hey Merric, if I'm not mistaken...I just saw your name in my latest Dungeon magazine (I was just reading it a little while ago). It was in the letters section, titled something like: Merric likes Maps

Congratulations are getting a bit of spotlight! It's funny you should be the first to reply, I was just reading your letter.

This is going to be pretty cool. I've set the initial runs* of a couple adventures I'm going to pitch to Dungeon in Greyhawk, and it'll be cool to have a nice, big map to show to the players. I'm planning on picking up two copies of each issue - one map to use as a reference, one to go up in my theoretical gaming room, once I buy a house and set it up.

*An initial run is when I DM and adventure that exists in notes form before writing it up as a manuscript. It's not really a playtest, since you should never playtest your own stuff, but more of a chance for ideas to coalesce.

you could say that.

i also imagine a few of them are rolling over in their seats/graves with Eric now in charge of Dungeon and Greyhawk material in there. some of them feel Gary and Rob are the only ones who should be writing or providing Greyhawk material. they often refer to the others materials as Greyhack.

And that's a shame and an insult to people who are trying to keep a setting that they love alive despite numerous attempts to axe it.
