I voted that I am happy with my current game/edition (3.5E). Having said that, I'm still interested in seeing what 5E has to offer. If it makes for a more awesome game experience than my current game then I would be foolish to not even consider it. The three major reasons I stuck with 3.5E when 4E came out were: 1. I had invested a lot of money in the 3.5E books and wanted to get as good a return on that investment as possible. 2. We were only a few months into the Shackled City AP. I knew it was going to take several years to get through (over 3 1/2 in the end) and I didn't want to switch editions mid-campaign. 3. My gaming group had gotten to the point where we knew the 3.5E rules fairly well, but hadn't "broken" the game. So, since we didn't have any major issues with the rules, there was no pressing need to switch. By the time 5E comes out I would have gotten around another 5 years of use out of my 3.5E books. We will also probably be getting towards the end of the Age of Worms AP (about to start the campaign this month). On top of that, my experience in running a high level game with the Shackled City AP was not as much fun as I expected. It was only the fact that the campaign had an awesome storyline that kept me going right to the end. I think the AoW AP will be a similar experience in that regard. At high level 3.5E gets way to number heavy with 57 different modifiers to remember. A prime example, as a group we increased the to-hit number of one of the PC's attacks by +8 as we reminded him of the various modifiers to his roll that he had forgotten! I'm looking forward to seeing if 5E can make high level play more fun to DM. There are also a couple of things in 3.5E that grate on you over time that would be nice to see a different way of handling. Olaf the Stout
