How are people going to get power to run their radio receivers? Is that going to be a high priority for them?

We're talking about the early stages of the zombie apocalypse so fuel and batteries should still be available to some degree even if they're growing scarce. In any emergency situation communication is going to be a priority. Granted, keeping the neighbors from nibbling on your flesh is a higher priority than setting the radio up. But making sure you can get news from afar is important. Even without a generator or batteries, there are solar powered radios available and if you have running water nearby you can rig up a simple generator to power a receiver.
