What are you talking about? Damage Reduction and Vitality-Wound points are not linked at all. There is no conversion necessary. You don't need a vitality-wound system to use damage reduction - in fact it is right there in the d20 Modern rules already under the Tough Hero's talents. How are we not communicating here? I will give you an example to spell it out: Example 1: Armor X confers a Damage Reduction of 2. Character wearing armor X has a Con of 10. He takes 11 points of damage, which usually means his Massive Damage Threshold has been reached and he would have to make a Massive Damage saving throw vs. DC 15 or go to -1 hit points. However, the armor absorbs 2 points of damage, making the damage 9 instead of 11. Therefore he no longer needs to make a Massive Damage saving through. Example 2: Armor X confers a +2 bonus to Massive Damage Threshold. Character wearing armor X has a Con of 10. He takes 11 points of damage, which usually means his Massive Damage Threshold has been reached and he would have to make a Massive Damage saving throw vs. DC 15 or go to -1 hit points. However, the armor increased his Massive Damage Threshold to 12 instead of 10. Therefore he no longer needs to make a Massive Damage saving through. There, see, same results as far as the Massive Damage issue. No conversion to anything. No would or vitality points. I am not asking you for a story. I think you are basing your house ruling decisions on completely false assumptions. I think you are stuck in a D&D way of thinking, where people's attack bonuses reached very high numbers when their levels get high - when that is not the case in d20 Modern. Others seem to agree with me on this one. Just give me a very short, simple example of a high level character whose average attack bonus is materially higher than the average defense bonus IN D20 MODERN (and not D&D). I think you will find your assumptions are flawed.
