Hi, Kids and Kidettes!

This week I bring you two very special kobolds. I first designed them as counters for Counter Pack 2, where they were allied to the Pax Hobgoblinica. But that wasn't enough. So, in CP3 I wrote two complete Prestige Classes for them. And now they come to grace a CP3 wallpaper!

The one on the left looks like me unkle Reekto. Mom always said he got killed in the great gnome infestation of '88, but now I see the truth. He really just ran away and became the first ever kobold ninja.

Can you tell us more about Counter Pack 3? I'm still waiting for a big NPC pack or collection.

By the way, very nice job on Counter Pack 2: Tribes, Clans, and Cults which I bought a few weeks ago! My only question is why weren't the counters perforated like previous ones? I guess that's more a question for the publisher than the artist...

Anyhow, keep up the good work!

Meepo -> He's more ninja-like than you think. Just to give you a taste (heh) of what a Shadowfang can do, not only does he increase in spellcasting power (+ levels of sorceror), but he can also spit poison (yay!) but he shares some abilities with shadow dragons (double yay!). BTW, if Calcryx gets old enough, you can become his Drake Knight, which cool too!

Thanee -> There are two products hitting the shelves in late November/early December, and they got similar names.

Counter COLLECTION III is a full sized (that is, 8x11 inch pages) assortment of MODERN counters. Not only you get tons of humans, but also some human/animal hybrids and modern versions of kobolds (yay!), bugbears, goblins, troglodytes, trolls, ogres and yuan-ti, among others, plus several VEHICLES (double yay!).

Counter PACK III, with the long subtitle "Denizens of Darkness and Dungeons", is half-sized (4x11 inch pages, like previous counter packs) and features several common staples of underground adventuring, like Umber Hulk, Mimic, Duergar, plus all the NPC (drow) counters from Queen of Lies (see a preview at www.fierydragon.com ) PLUS dozens of counters straight out of Necromancer Games' RAPPAN ATHUK trilogy, including the Dung Monster and Orcus himself!

Sir Edgar -> See above for CP3 details. While you could get more info from the Fiery folk, I'll try to answer. The later counters aren't perforated for two main reasons. One, the die-cut locks you with one page layout, so if you have a page with only 1-inch counters, you can't have a 2x2 giant on the next page. Two, the die-cut would increase the cost a LOT. How much? About as much as another counter collection. So Fiery Dragon decided to drop the perforating and focus on offering more counters at a fair price.
