Crothian, Thanks for mentioning it! Curtis, It would be more for High Magic campaigns. But things like magical fountains, miracle walls outside the local church, wizards towers protected from scrying and dimensional travel, flying castles, underwater keeps, all sort of things that are on a scale bigger than a normal magic item. It would be more an extension to accomodate that scale I think. But, perhaps there would be a better way to deal with that? Think about it this way. You could have a wall of miracles outside the church of the local god of healing and compassion. This wall might provide a Cure Minor Wounds spell to faithful worshippers once a day and a Remove Disease to a worshipper that pray in front of it everyday for a week while burning incense (A minor cost, kind of like a material component, geared toward commoners and expressing reverance for a god.) Now, the rules are all there to accomodate that for an item. But, if we are talking about a 40' long wall that _might_ be affecting many people at once, should there be any modifiers? Maybe, maybe not. That is a lot of wall facing and in times of strife, this church will be a lot more popular. What if all church's of this religion have a similar wall? What if a character is a cleric of this god and wants to build their own church? Now, they need to be able to create this wall too! :) That is just one example of what I would call Magical Architecture. Does that help any?
