The large language model AIs are fascinating. It's so fluent that it can almost cover up the fact that it doesn't understand what's going on.

(Mind you, when the guy in the bar turned out to be the Skeleton King, I can't say I would have understood what was going on, either.)

Yeah, there's a definite "uncanny valley" thing going on with those text-generating AIs. To the uninitiated, it could be hard to tell if the conversant is awkwardly ignorant or just trolling.
