A couple nights ago I was thinking about a "default" setting for A5E and thought of reusing and cramming together some old projects I had made. For starters, The Heptad is a spherical* object which has hexes of space that are 2.5k miles across, the walls of a given hex are indeterminate and varying to change. Below are the names of the hexes and their position in relation to Arzia, our main hex. Important to note, these are not monolithic places, and their names are not indicative of their given cultural "coding". As for the names, Arzia is derived from English Earth in a way, since /ð/ tends to become /z/ in languages without that sound, plus I like the sound of it. Kissel comes from an older project, and I really like it's name, so I decided it should be the middle-most hex. Same with Rolat, though in reverse. The rest were made up on the spot, and are mostly supposed to be read phonemically. Now, for Arzia. These're pretty self explanatory, but I'll elaborate further on a few parts I think I was unclear on Aykhon Empire The Aykhon Empire is this worlds Rome, with it's capitol being Anera /anera/. Briefly, the Aykhon Empire was founded from a personal union of three orcish clans in 55 A.S, following a brief kerfuffle about legal matters. They settled on being an aristocratic senate, in which local regions / provinces had their own Akmǎn /akmaːn/, the Akmǎn was similar to a governor or maybe a king, only one Akmǎn was the head of a given province, below him he could nominate a Basaz /basaz/. The actual seat of governance was in Anera, which itself permitted 4 Akmǎna to rule over the city itself at once, there, they'd elect one of the Akmǎna to become Mǎkariaz until they would die. A lot of words, I know. More importantly, the Aykhon Empire had fallen by the 650s A.S, where regional powers like the Basaz had begun to start acting on their own, in this civil war the Senate had been split into five different states, though only two really lasted. And the Sannuoz clan had fled to nearby Fuan using a hole in the stone walls of Arzia. tl;dr orc rome. Oh, also. Anera is still ruled by a similarly aristocratic electoral system when the campaigns would happen. The Vast Northward, there is a gigantic sum of water which continues to go deeper and deeper, alarmingly it has a radius in which no land exists. This area is the Vast, while I'm currently unclear on what it really means for Arzia, all I know is that it's not from the Asamassine Empire's doing. The Continents...? Only one is depicted right now, no name settled on it. But I plan on adding one or two more. Linguistic Musing Below are my current mappings of language families. First, Aykhic. Nothing special, I imagined it to be fusional/agglutinative with an emphasis on auxiliaries doing the bulk of grammar, with the prevalence of the Aykhon Empire the Common language of Arzia is derived from aykhon. Eastern Goblin is an aberrant language here though, as Goblin* is derived from middle Aykhon. As for the Diallic Languages, they're mostly analytic languages. However, Vulgar Jiesean might raise eyebrows, I reckoned that the planar languages of each are more like a dialect continuum similar to the dialects of German, with Planar Jiesean / Aquan having been a devised language heavily based on Vulgar Jiesean languages. ok formal typing done now, a lot of words!!! I had a real big scheming session the past few nights and it wouldn't leave my head, and I thought that I should at least post some of this out there. Hopefully it's good!!!
