Sitting upon the mantle is a mostly-intact lantern that is easily lit. The yellow light of the oil lantern only serves to make the scene look worse. The table, chairs and even the walls show scars that would appear to be claw marks from the Kobolds, Lizardkin or both. You seriously doubt if there is more than one thing outside the table, chairs and lantern that is intact here. To your left you can see what would be the front door, a open doorway that likely leads to the kitchen area almost directly across the room from the door you entered, as well as the rough stairway heading to the second floor.</blockquote>
