About a year ago I asked Meetup.com to create a new Meetup topic for DDM. At the time they declined saying that DDM was too similar to D&D and that I should just use the D&D Meetup. So that's what I did...

Since that time SWM arrived on the scene, and while I don't collect SWM it offered a unique opportunity to get a WotC Mini Meetup that encompassed both SWM and DDM. So earlier this week I finally got around to asking Meetup.com about adding a "Wizards of the Coast Miniatures Game Meetup" topic to their site.

Well... I just received the e-mail that WotC Mini Meetup is live and available to all of us DDM and SWM enthusiasts. Just click on the link below to start a DDM/SWM group in your neck of the woods.

I hope you all take advantage of this tool to setup regular games and meet other minis players/collectors in your area. Oh... and to hedge my bets and keep this from being even remotely off-topic... Don't forget about your local D&D Meetup at:

Thanks for pointing that out. Yes...
DDM = D&D Minis... as in the randomly packaged plastic ones put out recently by WotC.
SWM = Star Wars Minis... as in the randomly packaged plastic ones put out recently by WotC.

Sorry that I wasn't clear on that before.

At any rate... if you are interested in joining a meetup for minis or for regular D&D, just click on over to the Meetup website and do just that. if you come to the Central Florida Meetup (the one I set up), I'll give you a cookie.

If you search on the tournament locator on the Wizards website you'll see a place in Ocala that is appears to have several events scheduled. I'm planning on going to at least a couple of those.
