One by one or in small groups, at the appointed time, the Daggerfordians made their way to the Ducal Castle (7). Many of them made their reunions in front of the Lizard's Gizzard (29) or or between it and the Morninglow Tower (18), but as they began to climb the steep hill toward the castle gates, they immediately knew that something was wrong. Sir Isteval of Cormyr was there, and he was speaking to an ashamed palace guard. "What do you mean, there is 'no admittance today?' We have a planned audience, on very important business!" "I'm sorry, Sir." the guard stated, "By order of the Duke. The castle is closed today. He is not recieving anyone." "May I speak to Lady Morwen, then?" the old knight asked, referring to the Duke's sister, and trying to remain calm. "No, Sir. She is otherwise occupied." said the guard, looking past the knight with a nervous eye to the growing crowd on the road leading up to the gate. Sir Darfin Floshin exited his townhouse (37) with his sister Shalendra. Vairar and Lunn were with them, and Vairar held Shalendra's arm as she made her way down the front stairs, still weak from her ordeal under the influence of Sing-Axe. As they crossed the Hill Road and made their way toward the gates, one could see by the look on his face that Darfin's elven eyes and ears had picked up what was occurring there. He was not happy about it, either. A messenger left by a small door in the castle gates, and he circled past the growing crowd. Tommi recognised him as Fred Slattery, the youngest son of of Jynn's neighbour. [ooc]I'll give you a moment to react however you see fit. If you have nothing you want to try, just mark your character present with a quick note and I'll move forward soon.[/ooc]
(Note: Up is East on this map).
