Ok so the feat reads that
"You learn to use a single supernatural ability of another kind of creature while assuming its form through a polymorph self spell or a similar effect."
So is it possible to read it as during the process of assuming the new form you identify and learn how to use one supernatural ability that the form normally would have?
Thus meaning that if a form has two abilities X and Z during your shifting into that form is when you make the decision of X or Z and you are stuck with that decision until you leave that form.
So shift in to monster (a) it has SU (1), SU(2) you choose SU(2)
Next shift back into normal form
Next shift to monster (a) it has SU (1), SU(2) you choose SU(1)
I read it this way because the feat said "You learn to use a supernatural ability of an assumed form" so to limit it to one ability and one form the feat should need as a prereq that you are in the form when taking it thus the feat becomes unavailable while not in that form.
So as it reads you don’t gain a SU you learn to use one and you do this every time you assume a form.
now what about taking it twice the feat states that you cannot take it twice for the same ability in the hopes of reducing the penalties instead when the feat is taken a second time it must apply to a different ability
So if I have the feat twice the scenario goes like this
shift in to monster (a) it has SU (1), SU(2), SU(3) I choose SU(2) for my first feat and SU(1) with my second feat
Next shift back into normal form
next shift to monster (a) it has SU (1), SU(2) you choose SU(1) for my first feat and SU(3) with my second feat
I feel this is the correct way to read this feat
