I don't know if this was converted yet, probably was, but I found this creature particularly cool from a Spelljammer Monstrous Compendium I was looking through and decided to give it a whack at converting it to 3.5E So here it is: Astereater Large Aberration Hit Dice: 8d8+40 (76 hp) Initiative: +0 Speed: Fly 20 ft. (4 squares) [good] Armor Class: 21 (-1 size, +12 natural), touch 9, flat-footed 21 Base Attack/Grapple: +6/+15 Attack: Bite +11 melee (2d6+5/18-20/x3) Full Attack: Bite +11 melee (2d6+5/18-20/x3) Space/Reach: 10 ft./5 ft. Special Attacks: Improved grab, swallow whole, augmented critical, adamantine bite Special Qualities: Darkvision 60 ft., damage reduction 10/adamantine, camouflage Saves: Fort +7, Ref +2, Will +9 Abilities: Str 20, Dex 10, Con 20, Int 7, Wis 16, Cha 14 Skills: Hide +0* (+8 in rocky areas), Listen +8, Spot +9 Feats: Alertness, Improved Natural Attack (bite), Weapon Focus (bite) Environment: Any (Wildspace) Organization: Solitary, pair, or cluster (3-6) Challenge Rating: 7 Treasure: 10% coins; no goods; no items Alignment: Usually lawful evil Advancement: 9-12 HD (Large); 13-18 HD (Huge); 19-24 HD (Gargantuan) Level Adjustment: --- Adamantine Bite (Ex): An astereater's bite attack can bypass hardness and damage reduction as if it were an adamantine weapon. Augmented Critical: An astereater's bite is extremely sharp, and threatens a critical hit on an 18 or higher. An astereater's bite inflicts triple damage on a successful critical hit. Improved Grab (Ex): To use this ability an astereater must hit with its bite attack. It can then attempt to start a grapple as a free action without provoking an attack of opportunity. If it wins the grapple check, it establishes a hold and can attempt to swallow the foe the following round. Swallow Whole (Ex): An astereater can try to swallow a grabbed opponent at least one size category smaller than itself by making a successful grapple check. Once inside, the opponent takes 2d6+5 points of bludgeoning damage plus 1d8+4 points of acid damage per round from the astereater's gizzard. A swallowed creature can cut its way out by using a light slashing or piercing weapon to deal 15 points of damage to the gizzard (AC 16). Once the creature exits, muscular action closes the hole, another swallowed opponent must cut its own way out. An astereater's interior can hold 1 Medium, 2 Small, 8 Tiny, or 16 Diminutive or smaller opponents. Skills: Astereaters gain a +8 racial bonus to Hide checks when hiding in rocky areas, such as asteroid clusters.
