People just like to have someone to blame. The blame game seems to be the world's most popular activity nowadays. My fiancee, for example, works for a small non-profit agency that provides certification to addiction counselors. Oregon doesn't require all addiction counselors to be certified, but if they work for a state-funded agency they do have to be certified. All the agencies know this. It's been this way for years. Yet every time a new certification testing cycle comes around, he gets dozens of last-minute phone calls from people who want to get into the testing, and they don't have all of the required education and training. They tell him that someone else at their agency told them they didn't need to have such-and-such requirement to get into the exam. Then they get mad at my fiancee when he tells them that the person at their agency was mistaken, they do need that requirement, and it's been that way for 10 years. I used to run into the same thing when I handled disability claims. People would call up and tell me their employer told them such-and-so about their insurance policy, and then get mad at me when I told them that information was incorrect. As if their employer knew more about insurance than I did, when all I did 40 hours a week was handle insurance claims!! Like I said, people just want someone to blame, and they unfortunately pick on the nearest available person. Don't let it get to you, Eternalknight. :)
