Kahru had never attempted to commune with its kind before and did not know if they even behaved in the manner of true bears, but perhaps, given opportunity, he could attempt to calm it and gain its favour.For a moment the northman thought of the Wolfhair whip he had recovered from the Hill Giants Houndmaster - inscribed with the giant's rune for Obedience - but Kahru had gifted that to Sir Donnell as a mark of respect and faith that the young lordling would use it with honour.Actually distinguishing words from this distance might be difficult, though Kahru did attempt to hear what he could of conversations inside and out of the courtyard and also to track Gimlaks telepathic thoughts. (1)2 Vadasz was also about and the Barbarian-Druid thought to rouse him from his shelter and direct him to the opening in the southwest wall that Gimlaks survey had seen, hopefully his luck would hold as he passed without trace and found a perch within the shelter of the southern warrens.
