Attention! You can now run D&D Next games here at ENW's PbP, on Skype, & G+ hangouts

Glad they finally saw how silly the limitations on online play were. They didn't affect me in the slightest but it was sure generating some ill-will!

In light of the good news, anybody up to trying to organize a G+ game? I've not yet had the chance to try that avenue, and a chance to be a player for a chance would be nice.

I'm thrilled about this! I'm going to run my Friday night online group through some D&D Next this week instead of War of the Burning Sky.

So, to clarify, the only allowed means of playing D&D Next online are Skype, Google Hangout, and play-by-post forums, or are other venues (MapTool, IRC, etc) allowed "provided you to do not post or upload any transcripts from your playtest, upload any playtest materials and make sure that all members of your group have signed up to playtest through the official playtest sign up process"?

I think that would be the long and the short of it, yes. How you'd ever actually confirm that someone has DL'd the stuff is a bit tricky, but, then again, considering you're playing online, it's not exactly onerous to ask someone to drop WOTC an email.

On a side note, if someone from my current online group happens to be reading this and if things go really sideways in the next session, then that someone would certainly have my vote to DM a playtest session or three. :D

Not naming any names of course. ;)
