[AU] Adventures question

EarthsShadow

First Post
I am just curious about the two adventures coming out soon for the game, like, how big are they, what levels of characters are they mainly for, how much do they cost, where can I order them from, are they any good, etc... ya know, things like that.

Plus, has anybody gotten the DM screen yet, and what kind of conversion info does it have, and is that also worth getting?

Here are the covers to Fiery Dragons Products:

Plague of Dreams is an Intro-Adventure (for Charakters Level 1, maybe more)

More info on Siege on Ebonring Keep at MEGs homepage.
This BIG Adventure is supposed to take Characters from Level 1 to 5

The conversion info in the Screen tells many of the designer's thoughts and guidelines, but there are no: "D&D-Spell x is a simple Spell level y with the descriptor z" or vice versa (OK, descriptors are listed, but there is still a lot of work if you want to combine the magics of AU and D&D

I posted a review of Plague of Dreams, if that helps.

I also have the DM Screen product. I'd say the conversion guidelines are not a detailed set of line-by-line instructions on converting spells, items, or classes to AU. But it is complete enough you could convert anything with success, just be prepared to do your own thinking. In fact, I think that statement applies to AU in general.

Wow, thanks!

And a 5/5 at that! Thanks SJ!

I know there've been a lot of arguments on both sides about AU, but I'll tell you my story. The first files I received were not laid out with art or graphics or anything -- simple Word files, so I didn't have any of the distractions that seem to bother the others.

AU had me from "hello".

Seriously, after reading the class descriptions, I was so enamoured of this product and the possibilities and the sheer freshness that I was more than happy to work with Monte on the adventure. (Now for sale here!)

I'm glad that seemed to translate into a fun romp for your adventuring group!

hey James, i heartily agree with the 5/5 rating (altho this is my first hand at GMing, so you might want to take htat with a grain of salt! :D) just finished going over the module and i've gotta say i'm loving it. i just got a quick question:

i've noticed that there are quite a few loose ends sprinkled around the adventure. does FDP have an plans to flesh those out into additional modules?

Here's a strong answer: possibly.

Exploring related ideas sort of depends on how sales of Plague go -- if it doesn't sell, we'll look at exploring other things. Of course, it actually does seem to be doing fairly well (the benefit of having Monte's name on it numerous times!), so we might check out a few of the dangling threads.

Overall, I think that anything we explore further will only be tangently related -- I like to give a lot of freedom to the GM to determine how things play out without worrying about contradicting something that comes down the road later. The only thing that I personally would want to follow up with an adventure is a brief reference to "The Grim", a character that's been kicking around in my head for a few years now.

Does anyone have any idea when these products are going to be released, or where one can get them now? It looks like everyone here bought them at GenCon or got advance copies....and I don't see any news on release dates ANYWHERE. Any news would be appreciated.
