Pride and Prejudice is ranked higher than the frickin' Bible?

I'd rather read the "begat's" chapter of the Bible 100 times than read Jane Austen. And I'm an atheist.

I wonder if the Harry Potter books will still be on the list in 20 years time...

I personally don't think so. Just look at the recent decline of the Pokemon craze...it was as huge as Harry Potter is now..and then...nothing. Though I do find it funny all that stuff ahead of the Bible. :D

He's a very well known Australian writer. I've read one of his
books but I can't remember for the life of me what it was called.

But it was pretty good.

I've read the Power of One, and it was pretty good. I've heard very very bad things about one of his books, Tania or somethign similar, and ok things about a lot of his others.

He's also originally South African.

And Ankh, Pokemon was never as big as Harry Potter. Maybe it was among kids, but how many poke-crazy adults did you know?

I think these lists are essentially bunk, but interesting. And wierd. Fiest at number 18? Truely bizarre.

What I found interesting was the number of fantasy novels in the top 10...

Given its a voluntary, customer based survey I guessing its just due to the fact that fantasy fans care about such a survey where as most general fiction readers probably don't care about such things.

Nice to see Magician made the top 20.
