Avoiding AoOs at epic level

Let's see if I get the AoO thing right: a level 30 monk-type or fighter-type charges a colossal creature (say a ha-naga) that has Combat Reflexes. He gets AoO'd four times (reach 20'), right?

So the question is: what can he do to avoid this? This is epic level, so pretty much all options are open.

Also, what if they're both in midair?

He gets AoAd ONCE. You can only get one AoA per person, no matter how many you get a round. He could AoA 4 people, but not the same person 4 times. Now say there are 4 guys and he rushes past all of them....thats 4 AoAs.....

Huh. Well, that makes my shapechanging-into-ha-naga idea slightly less useful. But the question still stands: what can the monk do to avoid this attack of opportunity?

AoA are no longer restricted to one per person. Though they are restricted to one based on movement.

So the fighter sould trigger one for moving through threat range and could provoke another if he decided to punch the monster.

24 ranks in tumble. Or, really 24-(dex mod) ranks in tumble. DC to avoid AoO's is 15,+10 to the DC to move full speed. So as long as you're garunteed a 25 you never get AoO'd. Note: Tumble is a class skill for monks.

Oh yea, as was stated above, there would be only one AoO for movement out of a threatened square. Look into the "Hold the Line" feat which grants an AoO for moving INTO a threatened square. Then you can get two AoO's for movement instead of just one.

Note: This is debated, as both AoO's would be for movement and you can only get one AoO per provokable action, it's a potential that "movement" is one action. Whereas it's also two seperate movement actions that provoke, one movement INTO a threatened square, and one movement OUT of a threatened square.

Interesting... which begs the question: can you tumble in midair when you're held up by a fly spell?

Also, since pretty much everybody and their grandma will be wearing Boots of Swiftness, this means that nobody'll ever get AoO'd...

Some say you can't, but there's nothing in the rules saying you cannot. At least nothing I've ever seen or had pointed out to me.
