D&D 5E (2014) B1 and B2 announcement video has been published.

I crit!
A while back Goodman Games and WotC announced that they were partnering to reprint classic D&D adventures starting with B1 and B2. The seminar where the announcement was made was recorded and has now been published in audio and video. The audio is at the Spellburn Podcast and the video has been put up on youtube.

The announcement starts at about 11:07 in both audio and video and runs till about 31:16.

Joseph Goodman introduces Mike Carr the author of B1, Mike Mearls, and Chris Doyle the gentleman doing the 5e conversion.

When Joseph states what they are all there for there is a loud gasp of awe and lots of clapping, just the reaction I had when I first heard the news. And there is info about the news in the cast, but there are some other very cool things in it as well. It's worth the watch or listen.

For instance Joe talks about the fact that there were 9 printings of b2 and that the cover and art from the first three changes for the last six. I've never seen that art and I'd love to. It sounds like it'll be included.

The point about the cover of b1 being worked on by both Sutherland and Trampier gave me a few chills as well. And I felt a little sad at that point.

Joe mentions that the very first thing Mike Mearls first published credit was with him, neat, and that he wrote DCC #2, also very neat.

All three share some very cool anecdotes, some very funny ones, that I don't think I could do justice just reciting them here. Like when Mike Carr reveals that he played the first ever cleric character. Or when Mike Mearls reveals that time Erik Mona (3 years ago) in his game gave a pretty funny battle cry.

Also Mike talks about that review of B2 he did for RPG.NET a few years ago that stirred up quite a bit of debate.

Also I've come to have quite a bit more confidence in Chris Doyle after hearing about all the things he's done for Goodman Games in the past. Like writting possibly the largest adventure ever published, Castle White Rock.

I can't seem to find my B1 adventure at the moment.

A PDF of the originals not the reprints of B1 and B2 are on the DMSguild in case you don't have them already, you can use my affiliate links below.

Mike Mearls firs DCC modified for 3.5 is below. I wish they'd put up 5e stats for it.
DCC #2

Here is a link to the novel Chris mentions
Keep on the Boarderlands - Greyhawk Classics

I wish it was in electronic form.

Here's a link to Mikes B2 review. Note that he does say he's come full circle on B2 in the intervening years.

WOW, that Judge's guild book is huge. There's a good reason for it, but still; I can't imagine that being super convenient to use at the table.

What I want to point out is that Mike Mearls of WotC and Eric Mona of Paizo were playing dnd together while we were doing playtests and some people speculated how paizo and wotc hate each other.

I already own a copy of B2 I got off of ebay (and lots of other B series modules. Except B10. It's too expensive) so I have no desire to get a 5e update just for playing purposes. It's not particularly hard to update.

However. There are certainly others who would be interested and if there are enough extras included that might entice me to pick up a copy to support the endeavor.

It looks like for B1 an older version with the original cover was added. For B2 it looks like the inside cover map was out on a single higher res page instead of broken out on two pages.

Oh and I think I got B1 when it was being given away free as a promo for DMsGuild. It included the update with the previous cover. So if you got yours that way you may have the update.

Part of a post from rpg.net.

DDB_B1_InSearchoftheUnknown.pdf is the older PDF, from 2013, scanned from the 6th printing (color cover); B1_InSearchOfTheUnknown.pdf is a new PDF from 2017, scanned from the 1st printing (monochrome cover).

Similarly, DDB_B2_TheKeepontheBorderlands.pdf is the 2013 PDF scanned from the 6th printing, while KeepOnTheBorderlands.pdf is a new 2017 PDF scanned from the 4th printing.

In both cases, the 2017 PDFs look to be POD-ready versions; they're cleaner scans, sized to exactly 8.5" × 11", and so on.
