"What the characer does" includes what it did before the game starts. The game is just the point where we start interacting with the characeter in a group. It is a somewhat arbitrary point at that. I think getting a player to think about who or what their character is and how it acts can be quite useful. It has declining value as the session count goes up but I wouldn't do without it as a player or ref.</blockquote>
