Ugh, looks like I can't rely on this forum to notify me by email. Glad I happened by. I'm interested in Pathfinder, certainly. I won't know about 4e until I see it. I have a feeling that most of the mechanics for 4e are pretty much fixed, which is great if you're a head-in-the-clouds designer with no knack for mechanics. But my forte is mechanics. I don't know if there's room for me to play in 4e. I'm not exactly sure where my creative energy is taking me yet. However, a lot of the things that previously resided in a folder called "Grim Tales II" have been slowly but surely sliding over into a new "Trailblazer" folder. I've had to take a harder look at why I wrote Grim Tales in the first place, and what my goals were. I am starting to feel that part of my motivation for Grim Tales was the problems with high level 3e. Grim Tales was a strong reaction in the opposite direction. Since the "Sweet Spot" thread a couple years ago, and a few other threads here and there, I am starting to think that what I really wanted was to fix 3e. I was unhappy with 3e/D&D for a while; I strayed; but now I'm coming back to see if we can't work out our relationship instead. ;)
