Message: <blockquote data-quote="Henadic Theologian" data-source="post: 9060449" data-attributes="member: 7030526">They keep repeating it because Larian straight up said they were the more evil & neutral companions, originally the game was going to have heavy alignment system, but that got nixxed by WotC. And when talking about Karlach he mention that you now have the full spectum between evil and good for companions. Anyways it appears that the other possible origins found early on were that Tiefling archmage from Candlekeep with interest in infernal puzzle boxes, a red wizard, thekid (the child of Abdel), and Jacc Devir (who I sespect was the same as the kid, but named). And alot folks made  a big deal about Helia, but there wasn't that much as folks think, and it changed majorily before disappearing entirely. Helia was originally a Gnome Druid and head of the Grove before being replaced by Halsin as druid. Then she was a Halfling Bard Werewolf, then she was gone. Oddly she also had the human tag.  Her head was borrowed from another character even. That's basically it. No major commitment. That I think makes either Alfira, Delina, or a completely new character more likely. Or that Drow fighting the Mindflayer in the collector edition could be Devir and Abdel's half drow son, but I think that would bother some older fans who still refer to the protag of the OG games as Char_Gen still.</blockquote>
